A documentary photography project
Do końca
A documentary project about the bond between people and animals in the moment of farewell — about presence, dignity, and what remains afterward.
01 — Why
Why this subject
For three years, I cared for my cats through their illness. Every day taught me something about patience, and about how close you can be to another living being.
The decision to euthanize is never easy. But it is also a final act of care — and the last moment of closeness we have left.
On the other side of that decision, I understood that these moments — before, during, and after — rarely have a place in the stories we tell about animals. I want to change that.
„This isn't a project about death. It's a project about how we love until the very end."
02 — What
What I want to photograph
Moments that usually live on only in memory. I want to give them form — with respect for those who live through them.
01
Before
The last moments together. Calm, preparation, time for a conversation and a goodbye.
02
During
Presence with the animal and its caretaker in the moment that calls for the most gentleness.
03
After
The silence that remains. What happens to us once the decision has been made.
03 — How
How I will work
- 01
Conversation
First, we get to know each other. We talk about your situation and your concerns — no obligation, no pressure.
- 02
Consent
I photograph only with clear, informed consent. You can withdraw at any moment — no questions asked.
- 03
Consultation with a specialist
I work in coordination with the veterinarian, so as not to disrupt care or procedure.
- 04
Accompaniment
I'm present discreetly, at the pace set by you and your animal.
04 — Who it's for
Who I'm looking for
This bond matters to anyone who stays with an animal until the end — whatever animal that may be.
Owners and caretakers
People facing the decision to euthanize their pet.
Breeders and keepers of farm and exotic animals
This project isn't limited to dogs and cats — the same closeness applies to farm and exotic animals too.
Veterinarians
Professionals who accompany animals and their caretakers every day, as part of their work.
05 — What I offer
What I offer in return
I know I'm asking for something difficult. In return — no rushing, no pressure, and none of your time wasted.
A listening ear
Time for your story — without hurry and without judgment.
Respect and discretion
Full control over what and how is photographed. You can withhold permission to publish at any time.
A physical keepsake
Prints or a small photo album — a keepsake that remains.
06 — Gallery
First frames
The beginning of an archive that will grow with the project. More photographs will join as the work continues.
